Spotlight on Excellence

The American Re-EDucation Association received the Spotlight on Excellence award presented by the journal, Reclaiming Children and Youth, published by Pro-Ed in Austin TX.   The award was presented during the special recognition ceremony at the Black Hills Seminars in South Dakota, August 10 - 14, 1997.  The award is given annually to recognize creative and effective services reflecting the best spirit of reclaiming children, youth and families.

Mark Freado, Executive Director of AREA, accepted the award and expressed the appreciation of the AREA Board of Trustees and all of our members.  The award will be shared by AREA sponsoring agencies that host our biennial conferences.
